Summarise, Translate and Read highlights aloud are the core features of Browsing Assist

This intelligent feature condenses lengthy articles into just the main points, presented as easy-to-read bullet points. When you encounter a webpage dense with information, Samsung Internet can generate a summary of the contents, allowing you to quickly grasp the essential information without reading everything. You can choose between Standard or Detailed summary styles depending on how much information you need.

How does it work?

  • Tap the Browsing assist icon.
  • Select Summarise.
  • Wait a few seconds as the AI condenses the content.
  • The text will be summarised in bullet points.
  • Optionally, adjust the summary style between Standard or Detailed views.
  • You can also translate the summarised content if needed.

The translation feature utilizes on-device AI to interpret the content of websites and social media platforms into your preferred language. Galaxy AI with Samsung Internet can translate entire web pages seamlessly, making content accessible regardless of language barriers.

This feature leverages sophisticated neural machine translation models. The system supports a wide range of languages, including Arabic, Chinese (Simplified, Cantonese), English (US, UK, India, Australia), French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese, Turkish, Romanian, Swedish, and Dutch.

How does it work?

  • Tap the Browsing assist icon.
  • Select Translate.
  • Select your preferred language from the dropdown menu.
  • Tap Translate.
  • You may be prompted to download required language packs if they’re not already installed.

One of the newest additions to the Browsing Assist toolkit, this feature automatically identifies key headlines and read them out aloud when multiple article links are available on a screen displaying a list. If no such list is present, it summaries and reads the content of the current screen.

It comes with comprehensive playback controls that allow you to pause, play, rewind, or fast-forward the reading. You can also adjust the reading speed to suit your preference and even translate to the desired language.

How does it work?

  • Tap the Browsing assist icon.
  • Select Read highlights aloud.
  • The app will scan the page, identify key points, and begin reading them aloud.
  • Use the playback controls to manage the audio.
  • Tap the play speed icon to adjust reading speed.
  • If desired, tap the Translate icon to have translated content read aloud instead.

Samsung’s Browsing Assist, powered by Galaxy AI, represents a significant advancement in how we interact with web content on mobile devices. By integrating sophisticated AI capabilities directly into the Samsung Internet browser, we’re making the browsing experience faster, more accessible, and substantially more convenient.
