Optimize Your Applications for 16 KB Page Size Compatibility Using Samsung’s Remote Test Lab
The Android kernel page size is being updated from 4 KB to 16 KB, for better memory management and enhanced performance. Following the change, applications and updates for Android 15 and later submitted to Google Play must support the 16 KB pages starting November 1, 2025. Use the Samsung Remote Test Lab to run the 16 KB environments directly on real-life devices and validate your application’s compatibility easily. Make sure that your applications work seamlessly in the new environment and build your native code to support 16 KB pages following the guidance from Google. You can learn how to run the compatibility check for the increased page size and how to further utilize the Remote Test Lab on our blog.

Policy Update for Free/Discount Trial Subscriptions in the Republic of Korea
Due to revisions in the Republic of Korea’s E-Commerce Act, the policy for free/discount trial subscriptions offered through Samsung IAP on the Galaxy Store has been updated starting July 2, 2025. Under the new policy, users in Korea must explicitly consent to auto-renewal payments 30 days before the end of their free/discount trial period, up until the last day, to continue their subscription. If they do not provide consent, the subscription will automatically be canceled.
Samsung IAP can assist developers by requesting user consent during this period through email and in-app notifications, sent once a week (only once for weekly subscriptions). Additionally, developers can take proactive measures to prevent the automatic cancellation of recurring payments by checking through Samsung IAP whether user consent is required or has already been obtained during the free/discount trial period. Based on this information, developers can guide users to provide consent within the application’s UI.

DreamCache: Fine-Tuning Free Lightweight Personalized Image Generation via Feature Caching
Personalized image generation is an AI-powered breakthrough technology that can be applied across a wide range of fields, including creative design and visualization. In particular, generating controllable images in various contexts by capturing the core features of reference images requires a text-to-image generation model. However, conventional approaches have faced practical hurdles due to intricate training processes, high inference costs, and limited adaptability.
To address this, Samsung R&D Institute UK introduces DreamCache, a lightweight and efficient solution for personalized image generation using only a pre-trained model. DreamCache stores a key subset of reference image features and dynamically utilizes them through lightweight conditioning adapters, ensuring generation of personalized images that are both precise and high-quality without any fine-tuning. In particular, DreamCache has significantly lower computational and memory requirements to deliver high quality output, greatly broadening its application potential across diverse fields such as creative work and research. Learn more about DreamCache’s structure that takes into account both efficiency and precision, and our experiment results, on the Samsung Research blog.

Quantum Security for Future Communication Networks: Standards Perspective
As global data traffic increases exponentially and concerns around privacy grow, future communication networks demand ever-higher levels of connectivity and security. However, with the advancement of quantum computers that are capable of ultra fast calculations based on quantum mechanics, the security risk of existing encryption systems that are susceptible to attacks is also increasing. As a countermeasure, post quantum cryptography (PQC), which remains secure in a quantum computer environment, is being developed, while quantum key distribution (QKD), another core technology, is capable of generating theoretically unbreakable security keys by utilizing the principles of quantum mechanics.
Samsung R&D is conducting in depth analysis of PQC and QKD technologies to strengthen the security of future networks, validating their actual performance and feasibility while actively contributing to related international standardization institutions. From designing security architectures for the 6G era, to hybrid security solutions where PQC and QKD are applied in parallel, explore the details of our quantum security research for the future on the Samsung Research blog.
